A case of Good Steve, Bad Steve

So, I've heard that Windows 7, whenever you get online with it, will open an unavoidable, perminant port between your computer and Microsoft, sending off all sorts of information about where you're going and what you're doing. Bad, horrible Microsoft! Why can't you be more like Apple... shining becon of hope that it is?! Goodness, look! Apple now offers us DRM FREE iTunes downloads! See Microsoft?! Apple loves us and respects our privacy. Why, they'd never, say, make it so that every song you download imbeds your account information and private information ONTO itself so that if you ever share it, whoever gets hold of that file will also have your personal information... would they?

Oops.

Of course, you don't HAVE to shop at iTunes if you have a Mac (I certainly don't). And, I guess, if you have Windows 7, you don't HAVE to... connect to the internet. Wait, what?
