Walmake-over

Wal-mart will be getting a new face soon. But why do we care? Most of us don't. So why am I writing about it? Because it's interesting to look at how Wal-mart is trying to change it's appearance. Read the article. A "renewed sense of purpose of helping people save money so they can live better" and "its environmentally focused practices and efforts to make health care more affordable for customers through a discounted prescription drug program"? Wow, has our society really become such consumeristic sheep that anyone buys into this? Yes. We have. It's sad that Wal-mart isn't changing it's face with a renewed sense of purpose to helping the communities that they move into, enriching them so people can live better and have (how are discount drugs environmentally focused?) humanitarily focused practices and efforts to make their health care plans for their employees affordable and effective? It makes me sick.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm gonna go grab myself some discounted Pepto from Wal-mart to calm my sickened stomach due to Wal-marts ass-hattery. Wait... man, that's a pretty good racket they got going there.

It's marketing. If they're seen trying to change it's somehow morphed or inferred that they actually *are* changing. The criticism of big business like that is that they're sucky to their employees and are ruining the economy. Adding a star to their logo isn't going to change anything, but it will give them a chance to say, "Zomg, LOOK. EFFORT."

*shrugs* I guess I don't care enough? I still think that when WWIII hits that old Walmart buildings are going to become shells for slums.

Urgh. That sounds even more hideous than the current logo.

I don't see how Wal-Mart, home of the plastic bag for every item that's already in two or three layers of its own plastic protection, and the thousand-mile packaged salad, is environmentally sound at all.
I also don't see how these theoretically existent environmental practices have anything to do with cheap prescription medication.

This is an improvement? *s* And who, pray tell, is falling for it - aside from one gullible reporter?

YAY YAY YAY You're blogging again! XDDD
